Kenmare Bridge
to Glengarriff
Home|

This is the Bridge you'll cross if you enter Kenmare
from the South. The view from the bridge is superb and you can
see
almost the whole length of the Beara Peninsula. On
your left as you head towards Kenmare Town is the group of three
statues of musicians.
The view from this point at Sunset is really magnificent.
You'll also get a great view of our Pier
(Where the Famous Seafari sails from daily to tour
the bay and look at the lovely seals.)
Looking East past the Riversdale Hotel on your right
upriver, you'll get a glimpse of the luxurious Sheen Falls Hotel
and to your left the McGillycuddy's Reeks Mountains. This is also
a great spot for bird and wildlife watching many things have been
seen around here. There's a Heronry not far down the river towards
the sea with 40 to 50 Herons and you'll almost always see a Heron
fishing at the river's edge.
You also get a good overall view towards the Town of
Kenmare from here but the Hill prevents you seeing all of the
town.
When You get to the bottom of the Hill you can turn
Left to The Pier or Right through a shady Drive to Rinnagross
Park
The
Bridge
The
Statues
The
Pier
The Pier is a favourite spot for evening walks and
the views are quite beautiful.
Seafari goes from here and it's advisable to book in advance.
You can also book through the Tourist office in The
Square.
